Payment Processors

In order to complete online sales, you need a means to accept payments from your website visitors. There are two basic options available, a merchant account or a third party processor. Your Pro-Marketer sites will work with either. Both options require a payment gateway. If you have a merchant account, you'll need to arrange for a payment gateway to process online sales. Most third party processors provide access to a payment gateway as part of the service.

Merchant Accounts

If you already have an established merchant account that allows for online transactions (not all do), it may make sense to use that account for your Pro-Marketer sites. Third-Party Processors

For most Pro-Marketer site owners, a third-party processor is probably the most sensible online payment option. Third-party processors act as your selling agent. Technically speaking, your customer deals directly with the third-party processor to place an order and make payment, while you are responsonsible for filling the order. This eliminates the need for your own merchant account and the third-party processor also provides the payment gateway. There are several third-party procesors available.
